The Bolt Gold Nissan GT-R, autographed by Olympic champion Usain Bolt, sold for $187,100 at an eBay auction. All proceeds will be donated to the Usain Bolt Foundation, which helps create educational and cultural opportunities for young people in Jamaica. Audi drivers will soon be able to use smartphone functions in their cars, as the company becomes the latest to adopt new integration technology from Android and Apple. Google’s Android Auto and Apple’s CarPlay software platforms will be available from 2015, in what Audi describes as a ‘milestone in smartphone integration’. The system will eventually allow Audi drivers to connect their smartphone to the car’s Multi Media Interface to make calls, send and receive messages, as well as getting directions and playing music.
General Motors said Thursday that it is partnering with its battery cell supplier, LG Group, to develop electric vehicles. The agreement, signed Wednesday by GM CEO Dan Akerson and LG President Juno Cho, will “help GM expand the number and types of electric vehicles it makes and sells,” the automaker said in a statement. It's the second example this week of automakers looking for partners to help in developing more fuel-efficient cars, as U.S.
